MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES OVERVIEW
Heritage Mechanical Services is the prime HVAC contractor to renovate the heating and air conditioning systems of this 20 year old building that became the cornerstone of the institutions national, international and internet presence, and the hub of their society's world wide activities.
The mechanical construction project involved the machine rooms that feed the building from the sub-basement and 9th floor. They include six McQuay and five RACAN air handling units, 27 Greenheck fans, 1-150 ton Carrier screw chiller and one to five module Multistack chiller (150-ton standby), chilled condenser and hot water pumps, two rooftop Evapco cooling towers, three desiccant dehumidifiers, unit and duct mounted humidification, duct mounted reheat coils, two heat exchangers, smoke purge system (floor by floor), con Edison two-stage PRV steam station.
A new Andover direct digital control (DDC) system will link the two machine rooms to work as one so as to maintain temperature and humidity throughout the building.
