By providing accurate, timely estimates for company mechanical construction service projects, Dorwin and his team help clients make efficient decisions and develop sound budgets. As chief estimator, he reviews project plans, drawings, and specifications, and develops cost-effective pricing for the labor, materials, and equipment needed to deliver a competitive and successful bid proposal. After a proposal has been presented to the client or owner, he is involved in the scope review process, makes appropriate revisions, and assists with the final negotiations until the project is awarded.

 

In addition, Dorwin assists and trains new estimators, helps them collect and present their information, and reviews their work prior to submitting the bids. Overall, his broad experience and attention to detail play a key role in maintaining the company’s reputation for completing even the most complex mechanical, HVAC, sheet metal, and piping services projects on time and on budget.

 

Mechanical Construction Services Estimator Expertise

Dorwin combines well over a decade of experience in estimating with the knowledge he gained as a project manager supervising new construction and renovation work at hospitals, apartment complexes, and other facilities. After two years with a competing firm, he joined Heritage Mechanical Services in 1999 as a clerk, worked his way up through the company ranks, and was promoted in February 2010 to his current position.

 

A member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Dorwin has an associate degree in architectural technology from New York Technical College, a certificate in environmental technology from New York Institute of Technology, and his OSHA 10-hour certification. He also served three years in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge in 1997.

 

The Personal Side

Dorwin has a 15-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter. An avid New York Mets and Giants fan, he also enjoys playing softball and working out at the gym.
